Chalk

Enjoying the beautiful weather we've been blessed with while playing with sidewalk chalk.

Dress Up

Playing with my shoes.

Sauce?

Allie is in love with any condiment she can get her hands on, ketchup especially. Here she is enjoying some sweet-n-sour.

Haircut :-(

At the urging of some (you know who you are!) I cut Allie's hair. It wasn't a true cut more of a trim to remove the mullet-style she was sporting. Here are some shots of the 'new do'. Brian was quick to state that we needed to make sure she dressed like a girl until it starts to get longer.

WWZ

So I was going to finish my post the next night? (shrug) Almost a week later I'm back and adding pictures from our adventures in Feb.
First pictures of our trip to the World Wildlife Zoo in February. Allie had a great time.

Update

Wow...where do I begin? Things are changing every day around this place. Allie is just an amazing little girl with a beaming personality. Her vocabulary blows my mind. Every time I turn around she's saying something new.

Favorite sayings include:
"meer" - come her
"SIT DOWN" while she pats the chair, ground, etc. that you're expected to sit on
"wuv you" - love you
"c ya" while she is kicking me out the door as I drop her off at Miss Natalie's house
"elePHANT" - there is an emphasize on PHANT and she usually squeals while saying this word
"cacus" - cactus, which is usually followed by "no, no" because she's learned she is not to touch them

She loves, loves, loves airplanes. I think we have a future pilot on our hands. The other night we went to the airport, the same one Brian flies out of, to go look at the planes. We heard "see da airplane" at least 100 times. She loves going up there and watching the planes take off, land, and fly overhead.

"Mouse" is a commonly used word in our house. Normally, it's because Allie is begging to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She is allowed to watch no more than 2 episodes a day. Boy, do we endure some tantrums when the limit has been reached. For a child that has rarely been exposed to television, she is obsessed with "mouse". She can identify all the characters in her books and is always quick to point Mickey out when she sees him.

Bedtime has us only wearing "night GOWNs" and "elePHANTS" to bed. It started with my old Dukes of Hazzard nightgown. She began wanting to wear that thing every single night. In the morning she would fight as hard as she possible could to keep it on. (This is how one episode of "Mouse" is used every day. Can't watch "Mouse" if you don't get dressed. Bribing a 22 month old - I know, I know....) Well we quickly realized we would need another "night GOWN" so I found a Disney Princess one. The first night she put it on without a problem after her bath. We brushed her teeth, read some books, and picked her up to put her in her crib. You would have thought we were making her go to bed with a crib full of lions. She was yelling, "night GOWN", "night GOWN" over and over. Finally after all negotiation talks fell through we reached for the Dukes of Hazzard nightgown.

Needless to say, we were very weary to try the new nightgown again. After a few nights we gave it a try and it was a hit. We're now able to rotate between the two. Early this week though we were stung with anxiety as we realized both nightgowns were dirty. (I know what you're thinking, buy some more nightgowns. But let me tell you, it isn't easy to find a nightgown these days.) In a moment of despair I reached for the satin pink elephant jammies we tried at Christmas. They worked! Her new obsession with elephants was our saving grace!

I will write more tomorrow and post pictures. "C ya"!
